GH Spoilers: Spencer Grows Concerned That Esme’s Christmas Gift Was More Self-Serving Than It Seemed
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) was instantly taken aback by Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) phone call on Christmas Eve.
The last thing he expected to hear from her was that she was leaving Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) with him overnight to wake up with on Christmas Day. Spencer had already felt immensely grateful and surprised that Esme was even giving him time with Ace on Christmas Eve.
He took her words at face value and assumed she must really be turning over a new leaf. That’s going to change soon as he lends more thought to her motives, but he’ll still be moving in the absolute wrong direction with his suspicions.

Trina didn’t hold back when she tossed out the idea that Esme might have been on a date with someone on Christmas Eve.
She needed that continued reassurance from Spencer that it didn’t phase him in the slightest to think about Esme with another guy.
Somewhere deep down, Trina knows she doesn’t trust Spencer and Esme together, but she had no logical reason not to. It’s just a feeling.
Much the same, Spencer knows he feels something toward Esme — and a lot that he never expected to — but again, there is nothing to suggest it’s anything more than his own willingness to give her a second chance to prove she’s not an awful human being.

Trina left Spencer with his thoughts on Christmas Eve, and he may have spent more of that time dreaming about the morning ahead watching Ace barely opening his presents.
Soon, he’s going to start wondering what Esme was up to on Christmas Eve and why she was so comfortable with missing her son’s very first Christmas morning.
As much as he won’t want to bite the hand that feeds him, Trina’s words are going to get into his head and he’ll find himself feeling compelled to ask what she did without him.

Esme might clap back when Spencer pries into her private life. He said he was comfortable with her dating as long as the guy was good to Ace, but it’s fair to say no one has been introduced to Ace just yet.
Will Spencer’s inquisition lead Esme to wonder if he returns any of her feelings as he grows increasingly curious and bothered by the thought of her spending the night with someone else?
