General Hospital Spoilers: Will Dex be Redeemed with Sonny or Face New Career Path?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) hoped he could get away with joining Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) team as a plant and keeping secrets with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) the whole time he worked for him.
Of course, that plan didn’t pan out since Sonny knows the real story now.
Dex is lucky to be alive since Sonny was ready to take him out permanently over the traitor misunderstanding.
If it weren’t for Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) showing up when she did, Dex would’ve been a goner! Although Dex lived to tell the tale, Sonny is livid and can no longer trust him.
Dex previously admitted to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) that there was nothing else he really wanted to do anyway, so he was OK with settling into this mob career. It beat being a mall cop somewhere and paid better, too.
However, Dex will presumably have to consider other options now that he’s been exposed.
Dex eventually shifted gears and started protecting Sonny in the end, but Sonny can’t forget that he was initially hired to take him down.
That betrayal could be too much for Sonny to get past, so Dex may have to look for work elsewhere. Will Sonny officially fire Dex and cut all ties?
Sonny normally doesn’t let employees out once they’ve gone all in like Dex, but he may have to make an exception in this case.
Perhaps Sonny will cut Dex loose with one final warning.
Sonny might warn that if Dex does anything to jeopardize his organization ever again, then he won’t hesitate to take him out of this world.
There won’t be any last-minute saves from Carly if that happens.
Naturally, there could be some situation where Dex does something heroic and gets back in Sonny’s good graces.
Dex might score a path to redemption if he steps up again – especially if he saves someone like Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) or Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) from a grim fate.
GH fans know somebody out there is still after Sonny and the threat is inching dangerously close, so Dex could still redeem himself and maybe get another chance to stay in the mob.
On the other hand, this could be Dex’s opportunity to find a new passion that’s less dangerous.
There’s no denying that Josslyn would approve of that idea – and it might allow Dex to find some unexpected happiness as well.
With Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) return in the works, Sonny will hopefully get his right-hand man back in the not-too-distant future. In other words, Sonny may have things covered no matter what!
