General Hospital Update: Monday, August 21 – Surveillance Mission Goes Awry, Prisoner’s Promise and Couples Tested
General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Monday, August 21, indicates that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) will break in Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) locked briefcase and try to figure out what he’s hiding.
Anna will pull out the manila envelope that Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) delivered, which contains crucial Pikeman documents. Unfortunately, Valentin will return to Anna’s suite and force her to lock the briefcase back up in a hurry.
Anna will try to conceal the manila envelope and play it cool, but Valentin will sense that something’s off.
If Valentin notices the envelope isn’t where he left it, that could leave him suspicious of Anna’s snooping.
Regardless, Valentin will fish to find out how much Anna knows.
Anna will act like she understands how disturbing it can be when somebody you’re close to exhibits weird behavior.
Although Valentin will realize he could be in some trouble, he’ll hope he can reassure Anna and contain the situation.
In the meantime, Valentin will be summoned for a significant meeting at Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) penthouse, where he’ll put Valentin through a Pikeman-related interrogation.
Sonny will eventually blow up and rant about wanting to call off the alliance, but Valentin will suggest that’s wishful thinking.
There’s no way Pikeman will just forget about their partnership with Sonny, so Valentin will think Sonny should just learn to live with the way they do business.
On a happier note, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) will let “Eddie Maine” aka Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) play an original song for her.
It’ll leave Olivia impressed by “Eddie’s” creativity and talent as she begins to gain another perspective.
Olivia will actually enjoy being around “Eddie” for once instead of constantly wishing he was Ned. That’ll open the door to the possibility of Olivia learning to love Ned as “Eddie” instead.
When Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) meets up with Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers), it looks like she’ll discuss the auto show.
Assuming Diane took Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) as a substitute for the DA, Robert may have his doubts about whether they genuinely had a good time.
Of course, it would’ve been more fun if Robert had understood that Diane was trying to give him a hint and set up a date.
Robert may have a chance to make things up to Diane if he’s the date planner this time around.
At the Metro Court pool, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will apparently make a comment that gets under Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) skin. Once Dex lashes out, Josslyn will realize something’s wrong.
Dex will offer an apology since he won’t really be angry with Josslyn.
This will be about some mob drama instead since Dex will be in danger of blowing his cover.
It sounds like Dex will have to give Sonny updates on the setback, which will surely tie in with his spy work regarding Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini), Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) and Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth).
After Sonny scores Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) early freedom from solitary confinement, Carly will get a chance to speak with Drew over the phone.
That’ll lead to Carly promising she’ll visit Drew just as soon as it’s allowed, which won’t be too much longer thanks to Sonny.
Once Drew is mixed back in with the general population, he’ll bump into Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Cyrus will seem pleased to see Drew, but he’ll warn him about the foes that’ll inevitably keep making Drew a target.
Drew will think his recent prison feud is behind him and may plan to stay out of trouble from now on, but Cyrus will make it clear that Drew is facing a major threat from some of the other inmates.
Sadly, Drew could find himself in the infirmary or even the hospital if he gets injured badly enough, so he’d be wise to listen to Cyrus for once!
There could easily be another brawl on the horizon, which means Drew still needs to stay on guard.
General Hospital spoilers say Carly will have a stern warning for Drew once she understands the risks to his safety, so check back for news on what’s next.
