General Hospital Spoilers: Could Krista Allen Play Brenda Barrett Recast – Replace Vanessa Marcil as Sonny’s Love Interest?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that fans have been buzzing about Krista Allen’s (Taylor Hayes) recent announcement about getting the boot at The Bold and the Beautiful. Allen’s contract wasn’t renewed, so now everyone’s wondering if she might score a job on another soap.
Although Allen told Deadline that she was moving to Atlanta, Georgia, she could always commute or move back to Los Angeles if the right offer came along.
Should GH snatch Allen up for a new role or perhaps let her play a familiar one?
Allen earned plenty of fans as a Taylor Hayes recast on B&B and earned a Daytime Emmy nomination after taking over for Hunter Tylo in 2021.
Likewise, Allen was a successful Billie Reed recast on Days of Our Lives when she took over for Lisa Rinna from 1996 to 1999.
In other words, it wouldn’t be Allen’s first rodeo as a recast if General Hospital decided to bring her to Port Charles as someone fans already know and love.
That brings us to an idea that’s already popping up on social media. Would Krista Allen make a good Brenda Barrett (last played by Vanessa Marcil) recast?
Back in May, Vanessa Marcil posted on TikTok about declining an offer to return to the show and apparently gave her blessing to recast the role.
With that in mind, maybe it’s worth considering Allen as a potential replacement.
Some viewers consider Brenda Barrett to be Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) true love, so she might be the one person who could steal him away from both Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright).
There’d be a lot of great drama involved if the show brought Brenda back to PC, so perhaps they should hire Allen and see if she can pull it off!
It certainly wouldn’t be the first time GH scooped up a former cast member from another soap and had them play a high-profile recast.
In fact, they did it pretty recently when they hired Kate Mansi (ex-Abigail DiMera on Days) to play a recast version of Kristina Corinthos-Davis (previously played by Lexi Ainsworth).
