General Hospital Spoilers: Dex & Michael’s Secret Must Come Out – Sonny Prison Plot Can’t Be Swept Under Rug
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) is in the process of paying a steep price for a vindictive move. There’s no doubt that Nina wanted Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to suffer when she became the SEC informant, so Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) got caught up in that vengeful decision as well.
However, Nina reported an actual crime in the heat of the moment.
It was a choice that Nina couldn’t take back, but it really wasn’t this massive betrayal of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that the show’s making it out to be.
Nina kept secrets from Sonny, but she certainly isn’t the only one!
In fact, Nina’s exposure only highlights the fact that secretive Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and even Carly are getting away with a far worse betrayal.
Do GH writers really just expect fans to forget how Michael spent all those months plotting to put Sonny in prison?
Michael hired Dex as a plant in Sonny’s organization and coached him on how to make himself part of Sonny’s inner circle. The goal was to bring Sonny down and ultimately make sure he was behind bars permanently.
After watching Michael’s intense hatred of Sonny and listening to how much he wanted to hurt him, all this talk about protecting Sonny now feels hollow.
Nina deserves to face a comeuppance for getting revenge and hiding the truth, but it’s not fair for Michael and Dex’s vengeful scheme to get swept under the rug.
Michael ultimately called it off, but nothing can change the fact that he lied to Sonny and is still lying to him now. Sonny would be livid if he knew that Dex was part of Michael’s retaliation plot from day one.
To this day, Dex is still working for Michael since he’s supposed to report back to him and get his help handling things if Sonny gets in over his head.
Michael, Dex, Carly, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) are all in the loop, so let’s not pretend they’re all saints who have never hidden something that Sonny would disapprove of.
If Nina’s going down, it’s only fair for the others to go down for their own secrets. Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) ranted about how Sonny’s family had been lying to him, but she doesn’t know the half of it!
Sonny needs to get updates on the whole truth in 2024, so let’s hope Michael and Dex’s plot is eventually exposed. This is definitely a situation where Sonny deserves to get news on a far worse betrayal.
