General Hospital Spoilers: Will Cameron Return for Trina Reunion – New Romantic Plan After Spencer Exits?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nicholas Alexander Chavez will be departing the role of Spencer soon due to his new project. You may have heard by now that Chavez scored a leading role on the next installment of Netflix’s Monster anthology series, so he’ll be taking a leave of absence from GH.
Back when the news first broke, multiple sources told TVLine that the role of Spencer wouldn’t be recast while Chavez was away. That said, plans can change, so a temporary Spencer recast might still be an option.
However, it’s also possible that Spencer will be written out and sent off canvas, so that could leave Trina with a serious problem.
Trina’s current storyline is very tied to Spencer, so she won’t have much material to play once he’s gone.
That brings us to all the recent Cameron Webber (William Lipton) mentions. There’s been a lot of talk about Cam’s time at Stanford and the new girlfriend he’s involved with.
Of course, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) also admitted that deep down, she doesn’t think Cameron’s truly over Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) yet.
More recently, Trina had a chance to open up about her own past romantic feelings for Cameron.
In the November 17 episode, Trina talked to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) about how close she got to Cam after Oscar Nero-Quartermaine (Garren Stitt) passed away.
Although Trina admitted her feelings for Cam were nothing like the ones she feels for Spencer now, he’s still someone who touched her heart.
Trina mentioned Cameron instead of Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse), which says a lot about who she cared for the most!
Cam and Trina’s attempt at a romance never went very far, but maybe they could have another chance if all these hints are building somewhere.
It’d be smart on the writers’ part to have Trina fall for a character that we already know and love. If we can’t have Spencer and Trina, then Cameron and Trina would be a nice alternative in the meantime.
Even if Trina and Cam aren’t a true love match, they might be drawn to each other as they try to get over the people they fell hard for.
It’d be interesting if Cameron showed up single following another tough breakup at college. Between that and losing Josslyn previously, he might come home struggling.
Trina might split from Spencer as well and find herself swept up with Cam as they both try to cope with their losses.
As for Chavez, he’s supposedly set to resume the role of Spencer and finish out his contract eventually, but it seems likely he’ll be moving onto greener pastures after that.
Regardless, filming for Monster is set to start soon, so the show will need to figure out what the future holds for Trina after Nicholas Alexander Chavez exits as Spencer.
