General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) has been creating all kinds of buzz with his dramatic return to Port Charles, but it also serves as a reminder of a previous Jason romance that was cut short.

Jason and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) never had an opportunity to fully explore their chemistry, so many fans were left wanting more.

Alas, Jason was presumed deceased in the tunnel collapse – and then Britt lost her life thanks to Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) poisoned hook..

Now that Jason has returned from the grave, it’s left some viewers wondering if the show could offer some wild explanation and bring Britt back, too.

Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) grieved after Britt’s on-screen demise, but they could fix that with a rewrite if they wanted to.

Maybe Obrecht secretly saved Britt with the help of some experimental treatment, which would certainly explain why she’s been spending so much time off-screen with vague explanations.

They could even undo Britt’s Huntington’s disease if the soapy cure was miraculous enough!

That said, it doesn’t look like any Britt Westbourne comeback plans are in the works right now.

Burton commented on Jason’s love life and Britt’s grim fate in a recent SOD interview, so let’s look at his response.

“I don’t know what the plan is, but…I’m just gonna do whatever the head writers write and we’ll see where it takes us.

I mean, from what I heard, Britt’s dead, so I guess that’s over,” Burton said.

When the interviewer pointed out that Jason was previously deceased as well, Burton admitted that was true on more than one occasion. In other words, anything’s possible in the soap world – even for Britt!

However, the show has a lot going on at the moment, especially with the writing regime transition.

Jason honestly has some great love interest options already on canvas, so the show may not be looking to bring Britt back anytime soon.

On X, the social media app formerly known as Twitter, Kelly Thiebaud responded to some fans asking whether her comeback was happening.

“Not that I know of,” Thiebaud said in January. The former GH star also indicated that she’d been auditioning for other projects, but she did say she was happy for Steve Burton to be back where he belonged.

Still, there’s always a chance the show might need Britt Westbourne again down the road.
